In this presentation, Emberly will share a brief introduction and her personal journey as a trans woman developing her voice—beginning with self-directed training and culminating in my current role as a vocal instructor. I’ll then highlight the innovative work of Gender Voice Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she teachers gender-affirming voice techniques, including water resistance therapy as researched by Dr. Marco Guzmán, PhD, SLP, and further developed by Katherine Isaacson, M.S., CCC-SLP. The session will conclude with a live demonstration of how Emberly incorporate these techniques in practice with her trans and non-binary clients.
